Yuki Tanaka joined JAFCO in 2022 as a mid-career hire. He is responsible for executing investments in and providing post-investment support for seed- and early-stage startups primarily in the areas of software for enterprises, mobility, and the manufacturing sector, in the Investment Division.
Prior to joining JAFCO, he had joined Toyota Motor Corporation as a new graduate. He was engaged in project management which encompassed planning, development, and production of new products, and contributed to the commercialization of new HEVs and hypercars. He concurrently held positions as a new business planner at Yahoo! and as a business developer at a startup.
Later, he worked in strategic consulting, including new business planning, designing medium-term business plans and strategic business plans, BDD and VDD, at the foreign strategic consulting firm Authur D. Little, mainly for clients in the manufacturing, mobility, and IT domains. At the same time, he was engaged in product planning at TradeWaltz, a joint venture of NTT Data, Mitsubishi Corporation and others.
